About me

Will “WilHelmus.!” Sapanaro is a professional bassist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Somerset County, NJ, whose dynamic playing and creative instincts have ignited stages, elevated recording sessions, and brought films to life across the U.S. and Europe. Known for his versatility, Will moves seamlessly between rock, metal, funk, jazz, classical, and musical theater — always serving the music with precision, energy, and a deep sense of groove.

With a Bachelor of Music from New Jersey City University, Will has developed a reputation for delivering dynamic stage performances, translating his extensive live experience into sought-after recording work, and crafting an original voice in film scoring. In the studio, he’s a collaborative force, helping to shape arrangements, elevate performances, and capture the feel that makes each track memorable.

His credits span recording sessions, touring, and original scores for independent films and shorts, with work ranging from progressive metal to singer-songwriter projects to musical theater — all shaped by his unique ability to enhance the emotional impact of the music.

Will is also a dedicated music educator, offering private lessons in electric bass, guitar, harmony, ear training, and music theory for students of all ages and skill levels. Working with musicians across NJ and NY, he tailors each lesson to the student’s goals — from beginners mastering the fundamentals to advanced players preparing for music school auditions. Several of his students have gone on to study music at top programs such as Berklee College of Music and William Paterson University.

Outside of teaching, Will writes and records with the sci-fi prog-metal band Valence, as well as performs/records with acts including Libricide, Blood & Sound (Max Feinstein),  KayMars, Dan Sheehan, Tabitha Booth, and 80s power-metal legends Liege Lord. His experience with guitar pedals, effects, and tone-shaping allows him to craft unique textures and sounds that bring depth and character to every live show and studio project.

For Will, music is more than a profession — it’s a craft, a conversation, and a way to connect. Whether he’s teaching bass lessons, scoring films, or recording as a session musician, his goal is always the same: to create music that moves people.
